Community engagement has defined Rosario C. de Baca’s life. When she was 14 years old, Rosario volunteered to help Bobby Kennedy win the primary election, passing out fliers in the community. As a young woman she volunteered in health clinics and with the United Farm Workers when Cesar Chavez was organizing for the safety of workers.
Working with organizations in Denver and Colorado, Rosario involved community members in planning disease prevention and health promotion programs and obtained funding from foundations, state and federal sources to carry them out. Rosario hired Sour Grapes Design Studio to develop the logo for her DPS Board of Education campaign.
